In this week’s parsha, we read about the changing generations, from Joseph and his brothers to Moses and Aaron. A new Pharaoh rises up in Egypt, and the children of Jacob descend into slavery. In this session, we will investigate Joseph’s role in the Israelites’ change of status in Egypt. As a dreamer, what did he know? When did he know it? How did he visualize its end?

American-Israeli poet and translator Linda Zisquit will read from her new work, "P(OR)OUS." The long poem "Porous" is a work-in-progress, made of many threads exploring repetition and change, desire and loss. A sequence of poems called "Watchers and Sleepers" focuses on art and the meaning of human relationships during a time of intense violence. A group of small poems called "Or" dovetail with the concerns of "Porous."
