Straight from Casablanca to Limmud, Raphael Elmaleh ("Raphy"), the itinerant historian and archivist/antiquarian of the Moroccan Jewish community will share slides and stories galore. He will take you into the labyrinths of the Casbah and give you a taste of the Imperial Cities and their 2500 years (!) of Jewish life in the Magreb. Underlying this and other Raphy sessions this Limmud: "Why are we so disconnected from the Jewish people around the world and how can we begin to meaningfully connect to our mutual benefit?"
